Management Team
TEAK Midstream is led by A. Chris Aulds and Jim Wales. Together, Aulds and Wales have more than 55 years of oil and gas industry experience and proven expertise launching and growing start-up midstream companies with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
A. Chris Aulds
Aulds has more than 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He co-founded TEAK Midstream in 2009 and was part of the management team that founded Crosstex Energy Services in 1996. While at Crosstex, he was instrumental in growing the company from a $4 million start-up company into a $3B multi-service oriented midstream company at the time of his retirement in 2007.
While at Crosstex, Aulds managed several divisions of the company and was accountable for the P&L of each. He led the Producer Services Group (buy / resale of natural gas), Treating Division (amine treating plants that would reduce high levels of CO2), as well as Crosstex’ Eastern Division (transmission, gathering and processing throughout East Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and eastern Oklahoma).
Prior to starting Crosstex, Aulds served as Vice President of Gas Supply and Marketing for Comstock Natural Gas and Vice President in charge of gas supply, marketing, new business development and risk management services for Victoria Gas Corporation. Aulds started his career at Mobil Oil Corporation where he started as a field production engineer and later transferred into Mobil’s natural gas marketing division. Aulds graduated in 1984 from Texas Tech University with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Jim Wales
Wales has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He was part of the management team that founded Crosstex Energy Services and helped grow the company into a multi-billion dollar, publicly traded energy services company.
While at Crosstex, Wales managed several divisions of the company and was accountable for the P&L of each. He led the business development group as well as Crosstex’s Southern Division (transmission, gathering and processing throughout South and North Texas). He was also head of the Commercial Division for the company. Wales retired from Crosstex in 2007.
Prior to Crosstex, Wales was one of the founders of Sunrise Energy Services, Inc. He helped build Sunrise from a start-up to one of the largest national independent publicly traded natural gas marketing companies in the U.S.
Wales started his career in 1976 as an engineer with Union Carbide. In 1981 he joined Producers Gas Company, a subsidiary of Lear Petroleum, where he served as manager of their Mid-Continent office. In 1986 he joined Sunrise as Executive Vice President of supply, marketing and transportation. From 1993 to 1994, Wales was the Chief Operating Officer for Triumph Natural Gas, Inc. During this period he also served as the Chairman of the National Energy Services Association.
Wales holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Law Degree from the South Texas College of Law.
Anthony (Tony) W. Pack
Mr. Pack served as a Director of Business Development for Hawk Field Services, LLC from March 2009 through December 2009. Prior to this, Mr. Pack served as Director of Corporate Development for Crosstex Energy Services from March 2008 through March 2009 and prior to that Mr. Pack served as the Director of Gas Supply for the Eastern Division at Crosstex. Mr. Pack held various positions with Crosstex since he joined the company in February 1998.
Prior to Crosstex, Mr. Pack held business development and gas contract administration roles with Delhi Gas Pipeline Corporation. Mr. Pack started his energy career with Kerr-McGee Corporation as a revenue accountant in 1985. Mr. Pack is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BS in Accounting.
Gayle W. Muench
Mr. Muench has over 29 years of experience in many aspects of the energy industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. Gayle worked for Texas Oil & Gas Corporation from 1981 through 1995 in a variety of roles on the midstream and upstream sides of the business. He was specifically involved in various technical, project development, gas marketing, and planning positions with the company. From 1995 through 2003, Gayle was with Enron where he held positions in energy finance and origination and in the retail services portion of the business. He started Texana Pipeline Company LLC in April 2007 where he serves as President & CEO. Texana is a natural gas gathering and NGL transportation company with operations in South Texas and East Texas.
Henry H. Moomaw, CPA
Mr. Moomaw joins us after spending 13 years with Animal Health International as their Vice President, Controller. While at Animal Health, he was part of the management team that led the company through its initial public offering in 2007 and through its sale in 2011. Prior to joining Animal Health in 1999, Mr. Moomaw served three years at Fibreboard Corporation as their Controller. Prior to Fibreboard, Mr. Moomaw served in various accounting management roles with Hadson Corporation from 1993 until its acquisition by Louisville Gas and Electric in 1996. Prior to joining Hadson, he served as a Senior Financial Accountant/Analyst at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) from 1988 through 1993. Mr. Moomaw led the public reporting and consolidation functions for each of these companies.
Prior to EDS, Mr. Moomaw served as an auditor with Arthur Andersen and Co. where he served clients in both the public and private sector. Mr. Moomaw holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Southern Methodist University and is a Texas CPA.
Gary E. Conway
Before joining TEAK Midstream as Vice President of Engineering and Operations, Gary was with Valerus as the Vice President of Processing and Treating, focusing on the development and fabrication of cryogenic processing and treating facilities in the United States and around the world.
Prior to joining Valerus, Mr. Conway was the Vice President of Treating and Construction for Hawk Field Services — mainly centered in establishing the Red Hawk Gathering system in Haynesville shale. Prior to these duties, he was the Director of Processing and Treating – Commercial for Energy Transfer Company where he was responsible for the construction management and operations of grassroots pipelines and a 500 MMSCFD processing facility in the Barnett Shale as well as various commercial supporting roles.
He has held numerous positions with Energy Transfer, Crosstex Energy Services and consulting firms. All of these capacities have been centered around midstream operations, including construction, pipeline gathering, treating and processing of natural gas. He has worked in the natural gas midstream operations since 1994.
Mr. Conway holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A & M University.
